The Po’Shines Chitlin’ Feed!

This year’s event will also feature some amazing Jambalaya, along with the annual variety of chitlin dishes for both seasoned and curious eaters to try, including fried chitlins, traditional stewed chitlins, and more. All proceeds from the event will go toward the launching of the official Po'Shines culinary training program for at-risk youth and young adults.

Chitlins are not something often seen in the city of Portland, let alone the northwest, however staff at Po'shines wasn't surprised by the turnout to last years event, and the request for chitlins throughout the year. In addition to plenty of good food, the two day festival will also feature local music and other chitlin festivities.

This is the third year that Po'Shines has brought the rare southern cuisine of chitlins (also called chitterlings or wrinkled steaks) to Portland diners. We appreciate the opportunity to reflect on our ancestors who took Chitlins, pig intestines, and made it into a wonderful cuisine.
